GOING: G

Hygain Tracktorque 2YO Maiden Plate 1000m

Track: Good 4   Clouds (Max: 17)   Rail: Out 9m Entire Circuit. (Pent: 5.21)

Many of these juveniles step out for the first time so a strong pace is anticipated. LATIN BOSS (3) was well in commission on debut in the Inglis Banner over this trip at Flemington in November but was very green up the straight and failed to feature. Now gelded and has subsequently impressed in Pakenham jump-outs. Looks ready to make his mark this prep. Stablemate AFFIRMATIVE SMILE (7) was backed into $2.40 on debut at Bendigo on 18 March but tired out of the placings after leading for the judge. Better for that outing and coming back a little in trip will suit. Godolphin's IMMERSE (9) keeps improving. Found the line well to finish second in the same race as Affirmative Smile at Bendigo recently. A wide gate and 1000m are negatives, but she is progressing too well to rule out. NIGHT GUARD (4) on debut for Price/Kent is worth keeping in mind after a jump-out win at this track recently. MRS IGLESIA (10) resumes for the Hayes stable. Going great guns on the track and she showed talent at the last run before being turned out. SUGGESTED PLAY: Like Latin Boss.

Looks forward enough after a recent jump-out win. Now gelded and finds a softer target to launch this prep so worth another chance.
