Expecting a strong pace headed by Spartan, Miss Miranda and Spot On Time. SPOT ON TIME (3) is back from a break after being put aside when winning his only race this year on this track in March. He has been patiently handled and has plenty more to offer as he matures. A recent trial win will have him ready to rumble fresh up. THIRD DECREE (1) stormed home last start to grab second, beaten by a head over 1000m at Riccarton fresh up 6 weeks ago. She has won 3 of her 4 starts on this track, and with an extra furlong to travel, she can figure in the top 3 again. TIKKI (2) resumes from a spell and kicked off her previous campaign with a win over 1200m at Wingatui. She has not reached her ceiling yet and can give this field a shake. ILLICIT DREAMS (5) has been consistent without winning, finishing second last time over 1400m at Ruakaka. Her trainer has a great record when trekking his horses to the South Island. Each way claims again. TEXAS DOLLY (8) finished eighth when resuming at Riccarton over 1200m. She will improve sharply second up, so stick with her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Spot On Time could just be too good.
