Star Intrigue and City Gold Speed possess good early speed. TALKACHINO (6) resumes after nearly two years off. Worth noting he was a first-up winner over 1400m at Bathurst last prep. Would usually expect them to need the run but his dominant trial win suggests he can return with a bang. TRUMPTY DUMPTY (11) was sharp fresh at Narromine over 1100m, sitting handy before putting them away with ease. Strips fitter and this shapes as another winnable target. SHADOW DANE (2) also returned a winner at Narromine. Fitter now and with that run under the belt he has genuine claims to go on with it. NAVAL OFFICER (4) settled back first-up but made good late ground into fourth. Extra trip suits and he’s a live chance. POWDERFINGER (15) is overdue but hitting the frame. Worth including in multiples. SUGGESTED PLAY: Talkachino to return a winner.
