OLPHERT CONTRACTING HANDICAP 1600m Track: HEAVY 10 True |

---|---|---|---|---|
Expecting plenty of speed from Vamos, Kahma Suitsya and Stolen Magic from Short. SAINT BATHANS (4) found his rivals too sharp over 1100m at Gore in his first run for a new trainer at Gore 12 days ago, when settling well back and only warming up late. He steps up to a mile, and with 4kg less to carry, don't be surprised if this fellow took them all the way. VAMOS (1) was in a league of his own last start, scoring easily by 8 lengths over 1800m at Gore. The drop to a mile won't bother him, and as long as the ground is rain-affected, he can complete the hat-trick here. GO LOTTE (3) settled well back last start and ran on far too late for fourth over 1100m at Gore. She is much more capable over a mile, and is nicely poised here to bounce straight back into the money. SESTINA (6) ran fourth over 1600m at Wingatui in her latest outing at the start of June. She comes to hand quickly, and on her favourite track, she can make her presence felt in this at a decent each-way price. SUGGESTED PLAY: Saint Bathans to win this at nice value.
