JOY SMILEY (5) is a 33-start maiden but does look to be edging towards a win, the latest effort an encouraging third at this track over 1400m after being in the firing line on the corner. Big chance to open her account. SOLBECK (2) again failed to feature last start, finishing fifth and beaten 2.75 lengths over 1500m at this track. Settles back early but winds up late. Capable of a big run. CALM GAZE (1) impressed last time out at the second run of the campaign and finished 2.5 lengths from the winner in third over 1500m at this track. Likely improver with strong prospects.
