BROOM HANDICAP 1200m Track: GOOD
Despite the wide draw California Touch should cross and set a genuine tempo. CALIFORNIA TOUCH (4) has seen his form improve quickly since being tried on this circuit and he made it two wins from his last four starts when scoring by a head just over four weeks ago. He loses nothing with Brenton Avdulla picking up the ride and he is poised to repeat the dose. NORDIC DRAGON (1) dropped back to his rightful grade and ran a better race to finish third here last time out. His draw is not so good this time but it is encouraging to see Hugh Bowman keep the ride. Stick with him on an each-way basis. RIGHTEOUS ARION (10) graduated to this class with a tough win by a head in his penultimate start and then after winning a trial, he was a fast finishing fifth last time out. He benefits from a 1.5kg claim and can have the last say. ARMOUR EAGLE (12) also holds appeal with Teetan piloting.
