Duke Of Arrakis to take charge ahead of Single Choice at a solid tempo.
Not the strongest field ever assembled for a $500k race. FARNICLE (2) brings the Marhoona form to the table. Finished 1.2 lengths behind the filly in the Heritage, although little separated the chasing pack which is always a worry. Fitter for that outing and will relish the longer trip today. KUJENGA (12) was excellent first-up in the Furious then dropped out alarmingly without excuse in the Tea Rose over this distance three weeks ago. She isn't as bad as that so give her the benefit of the doubt. ESTREMO (1) won a Caulfield Guineas Prelude run at a farcical pace recently so that form is questionable. Best effort before that was a midweek win at Canterbury. Waller factor keeps him high in the pecking order. FERMOY (3) was beaten a neck in the Up And Coming two back before a Melbourne flop two weeks ago over this trip. Another that needs to be taken on trust. DUKE OF ARRAKIS (5) strips fitter and if allowed to control things could easily get away with this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Farnicle the safe way to bet in a race that throws up more questions than answers.
