Genuine tempo from Lario leading Alero. EVERAIN (1) looks very well placed back to benchmark grade having been well supported to win the Silver Bowl Series Final at Flemington last time out, off the back of two smart wins at Mornington and Cranbourne. A mile there may have just seen him out but he now comes back to an ideal trip and gets Williams up. NIMBUSTWOTHOUSAND (3) has always promised a bit but really put them away last start at Bendigo over 1100m, scoring by 2.25 lengths. His run prior over this course and distance was solid and he can improve again now. BETWITCHERY (6) led under Shinn who went for home early over this route last start, holding on by the barest of margins. Drops right in weight with the apprentice on board and will take catching again. LARIO (7) stuck on fairly last time at Flemington and sets up well from the inside with Shinn now jumping aboard. ALERO (4) has ability, up in trip could spark improvement. SUGGESTED PLAY: Everain to win.
