Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. Tricky and the market is sure to be instructive. BEST OF THE BEST (1) debuts for a leading metro yard and has prepared well enough to suggest this is winnable. Melham is a key jockey engagement, and he was aboard the colt in one of his three jumpouts. The stable can get them going early, and a bolt run is likely. Fellow debutant GODTFRED KIRK (4) is also in a sharp metro hands and looks ready to go. He's jumped out well, and Stackhouse sticks from the first on them. Draws awkwardly but should be good enough to manage. WISHFUL THINKER (9) won two jumpouts but disappointed at Bendigo on debut, well-supported (vet cleared). Waterhouse-Bott have put the blinkers straight on and with the extra fitness and learning, a much better effort is anticipated. HIMALAYAN (11) debuted in better class and didn't get into it after a slow off. She looked good in a recent jumpout, and it won't surprise to see her race well first-up. PARAK (6) can go better on the turf and keep onside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Best Of The Best on what we've seen.
