REDS EXPRESS (7) was ridden with more aggression last start and reacted but hanging on well for third over this distance at Queanbeyan. Drawn to enjoy a favourable run again. Very fit and looks ready to finally break through. STEP QUICK (3) raced on the speed and tried hard but just missed the placings when fresh from a spell over today's journey at Orange last time out. Improved considerably second-up last prep off a less impressive fresh performance. Definite contender. DAWN ON ME (5) returns from a four-month spell. Raced just twice in the maiden prep and filled two minor placings here at 1000m. Will capitalise on the inside draw and be prominent for a long way. MELODIA PERFECTA (6) resumes. Transferred to Aaron Clarke late last prep and had one run for him, a fourth at Queanbeyan when fresh from a nine-week break. Big chance based on her best form when prepared in Victoria. PURE OCTANE (2) failed on debut at Canberra due to respiratory issues. Can make amends. SUGGESTED PLAY: Reds Express each-way in a race with a few chances.
