A few sit handy but there won't be a great deal of early pressure. FIRE TYPE (2) peaks and is well placed off a 1.75 length defeat over 1600m at Colac. Disappointed as a $2.5 favourite over 1600m at Pakenham prior, where he was unsuited leading. Has been kept on the fresh side, and the inside barrier should be an advantage. HURCO (3) pulled up with an issue two back and then was slow off over 1312m at Geelong and always had the job ahead. Draws low today and the step up to 1600m is sure to suit. Has more ability than the form line suggests. PRINCE ZIOTTA (4) settled last and had a tough run this trip, beaten 2.8L at Swan Hill Peaks, and the visors go on. Improvement is on the cards. LADY COLONIST (10) jumped $2.9 at Terang and tired over the latter stages. Come back 250m for this and the in-form Meech rides for the first time. She's likely to push forward, and the filly can't be ruled out. SUGGESTED PLAY: Fire Type to win.
