A solid tempo is on the cards with En Mer and Earl Of Gloucester pushing for the lead ahead of True Test and He's On Song. FINANCE MERCHANT (8) has been giving away starts, but his 1L defeat over 1800m at Horsham two back hinted at better things to come. Jumped $3 at Warrnambool over 2300m last time, but had too much to do after a slow off. Has the blinkers on for the first time and may be able to settle closer. Can be in the finish if things work out. PRECIOUSMORE (12) resumed over 2000m at Ballarat and did a solid job, beaten 3.2L. She's sure to have taken improvement and maps for a soft run in easier. Quick improvement is likely. SOUL GLOW (10) will be better for the two provincial efforts, where he's spoiled things with slow beginnings. Has the blinkers on for the first time to improve his focus, and this grade will suit him better. SUGGESTED PLAY: Finance Merchant to win.
