Private Jumbo and Gobbo's Mate should set a strong tempo. Tricky race. ATTAIN (6) resumes. He doesn't win out of turn but he's very consistent and is now with the Bedggood yard who have a knack with these tried horses. Like the booking of Logan Bates who is arguably the best apprentice in the state and claims a handy 2kg. If he runs to his best he's right in this. WINSOME STAR (5) did enough fresh in a stronger race at Caulfield Heath when working home late to be beaten four lengths. Better for that now and finds a suitable affair. PRIVATE JUMBO (4) resumes. He's another that doesn't win many but raced well last time in and can show up. STORMBOURG (12) didn't manage a win last time in but his best would go close, not discounting.
