GOING: G(4)

MUSWELLBROOK FORD COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m

Track: Good 4   Rain (Max: 19)   Rail: True. (Pent: 4.98)

Solid tempo with Yasena possessing enough dash to find the front. MR BAZZA (1) showed nice improvement second-up when closing off to earn a minor cheque. Should come on again from that effort and with Bullock sticking, he looks capable of going one better. YASENA (4) couldn’t quite deliver for supporters last time when beaten under a length as favourite. Peaking now on the quick back-up and gets another strong chance to break through. STUCK IN THE GORGE (2) is an All Too Hard colt on debut for the Cavanough yard. Readied with a quiet trial here and secures a key booking in the in-form Nock. Can make his presence felt immediately. LOOKING THE PART (3) was good two back when beaten a long neck but failed to follow it up last time. Worth keeping safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Mr Bazza.

Third-up today. Resuming sat behind the speed prior to fading 8th of 11 at Quirindi Mdn on November 13 over 1200m, 6 len behind Steel Claws with 58kg at $11. Second-up made some head-way from midfield; 2nd of 11 at Muswellbrook Ctry Mdn-Sw on November 28 over 1280m, 3 len behind Avista carrying 59kg at $10. Capable of a better showing. Heading in the right direction and looks the one to beat.

Jumped as a despised roughie at debut, 6th of 9 at Muswellbrook Mdn on November 28 over 1000m, 7 len behind Vittozzi with 57kg at $101. Draw helps, but hasn't done anything to date to suggest she can win this.

Third-up today and placed third-up previously. Resuming 4th in a small field at this track Ctry Mdn-Sw on October 24 over 1000m, 3.5 len behind Shenandoah River with 55.5kg at $41. Second-up 5th of 10 at Wellington Ctry Mdn-Sw on November 24 over 1000m, 5 len behind Capsity with 55.5kg at $4.20. Strips fitter and is worth keeping safe from the good draw.
