Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. VERSION (9) was only a long neck from the winner in second last time out in a small field over 1050m at Inverell at the first run of the campaign in the wet. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset and her best figures should see her run well. PRUCIA (4) turned in a good performance last time over 800m at Ipswich, finishing 1.75 lengths from the winner in third after she was handy all the way. The extra journey should play into her hands and is right in the mix. SOLAR SURFER (11) finished sixth after being prominent at the bend at his last appearance over 1200m at Sunshine Coast on November 9. Solid top-three chance on best figures. PIPPIE POMAR (10) finished 8 lengths from the winner in eighth at her most recent appearance over 1000m at Gold Coast after she gave away a big start. Is better than that run suggests and appeals as a top-four contender. SUGGESTED PLAY: Version to shed the maiden tag.
