Solid tempo with Our Sassie Anne leading from Lucullan and Mermaid. SPERLARI (9) made progress in her initial campaign and is resuming from a spell that would have done her the world of good. She has not had any tune-up trials, but is stronger this season, and can pinch a win fresh up in a race like this. SAM'S TURN (4) has trialled since finishing second over 1400m at Awapuni on the poly track four weeks ago. He has been patiently handled and should go close to winning here. TRAUMA (2) bounced back from a sixth-place finish at Trentham two starts ago with a comfortable win over 1200m at Hawera last week. The quick backup will suit him, and there is no reason why he can't repeat the dose. FANCYPANTS (6) has not had all the luck in his recent racing, and he has won on this track in the past. He is likely to secure a handy spot this time and should not be underestimated. LUCULLAN (3) was a beaten favourite fresh up off after winning a trial. He has won another trial since then and is worth another chance. Follow your money. SUGGESTED PLAY: Trauma each way value.
