The pace looks very strong with plenty of speed engaged. PRIDE OF VENUS (8) delivered the hat-trick at Townsville for the premier stable, spiking her figures. She will use the inside gate and tumbles in weight. That brings her right into it over the longer sprint. ZHUANG SHI (3) raced a short-priced favourite here last time beaten 1.6L over a mile at this level. He's been kept on the fresh side and deserves another chance. PREPOTENT (4) won that contest tough on the line. Carries 2kg more but he's capable of repeating the dose. CAPO STRADA (1) led and just missed in that race and continues to race well. He's been finding it hard to win but always puts in. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Pride Of Venus.
