GOING: H(8)

Geelong Financial Group 3YO Maiden Plate 1425m

Track: Heavy 8   Rain (Max: 12)   Rail: Out 6m Entire Circuit.

Not a great deal of pace on paper so it may be left to one of the debutants to take it up. PRAY TELL (3) wound up strongly last time out to finish 1.5 lengths adrift in second over 1200m at Sandown on debut. It looks the right form, which will be tested earlier in the meeting with third placegetter Tagamate going around in the first. DE ASCOT (1) hasn't trialled as sharply as some from the Price/Kent stable, but they always need to be respected with first starters. SHOWS NO SHAME (7) finished third last time over 1100m at Bendigo when resuming from a spell, beaten 2.5 lengths. Needs to be at her best to beat this field but she is good enough to play a major role. REPRESENTATIVE (6) is another debutant in great hands who showed something at her latest trial and she draws well. SHADES OF STARDOM (4) returned from a spell three-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 10 lengths into fourth over 1200m at Hamilton. Meeting a deeper field this time but he cannot be taken lightly with extra fitness under the belt. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pray Tell to win.
