Royal Gladiator has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. UNDERRATED (9) settled midfield then worked home okay but was never a winning chance last start over this course and distance. Draws a better gate this time and the senior rider takes over. Ready to peak at the third run back from a spell. SCRUFFY (12) stormed home to win first-up over 1050m at this track. Missed the kick and was never a factor on the tight Gatton circuit last time. Has a wide gate to contend with but she looks a serious threat back on at Rocky where she has three wins from four visits. ROYAL GLADIATOR (5) recorded a win and a game third in two runs on the turf at the Sunshine Coast to launch this prep. Less effective last time on the poly track there. Cherry ripe now and can improve back on the turf. EL FORTRESS (10) wasn't far away last time and can improve third-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Underrated to win the last.
