A small field that lacks a pacemaker. TACITO (4) only battled home last start, finishing seventh and 4 lengths off the winner over 1600m here nearly 3 weeks ago. He probably finds the mile a touch too far, and back to 1400m, he is good enough to win a race like this. Stick with him. DOTHRAKI (2) flashed home from the rear of the field last time out, winning by a long neck over 1100m at this track a week ago. He is part of the David Page stable, and he has thrived on this circuit, winning 4 races. The extra 300m is no problem, and he can repeat the dose. I AM SPARTACUS (3) is a durable veteran who hasn’t won for a while, most recently running ninth over 2000m at Mt Barker. He has a far better record here on his home track, and a form reversal would be no shock. CELEBRITY PRINCE (1) ran on too late when finishing seventh second-up over 1400m in the same race as the second pick. He will be peaking third up, and can figure in the top 4 this time.
