GOING: G(4)

COCHRANES OF CANTERBURY 1400m

Track: GOOD 4     True

Genuine tempo with the speedy Le Rogier leading the way. FLAT STANLEY (5) went down by a neck as favourite last time out at Riccarton, finishing a game third. He is close to his peak fitness now and is good enough to take this out. SAUVAGE (4) ran a much better race when finishing sixth at Riccarton last start. He might be looking for further, but can't be ruled out of a top 4 finish here. MOGUL (2) caught the eye with a big late finish for second last start, and will start from a superior gate this time. Stick with him on an each-way basis. POGACAR (7) showed promise in his initial prep and will have plenty of market support. STOUT (8) resumes from a spell, and has won fresh up in the past. Tina Comignaghi can secure the run of the race from a handy gate, and a solid effort is expected. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sauvage each way value.
