Without much in the way of early speed it might be left to Luna to take charge. GRAND PURPLE (5) finished out of the money two starts back then he was always well out of his ground and was beaten 6 lengths when eighth in a 1400m contest at Kasamatsu four weeks ago. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. DASTIE (3) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1500m at this track, beaten 6 lengths after being in contention on the turn. Looks well placed so expect another big run. HARUKANA NEGAI (9) has been safely held at her last couple of runs, the latest when 16th over 1200m at Kyoto Dirt. Finds an easier assignment and is among the leading chances. LUNA (6) was beaten 7 lengths into fourth at the second run back from a break over 1400m at this track last time out. Well placed and can figure in the finish this time.
