GOING: G

Seafront Group Benchmark 62 Handicap 1050m

Track: Good 4     Rail: True.

Reigning Star should spear straight to the front of the small field. REDWINELOVER (2) made it two on the bounce in fine style here last time, adding to her terrific record at this venue. Drops back in trip off 33 days and is drawn to get all the favours. Hat-trick inbound. NOBLE MAGNATE (1) never looked likely when resuming off 300 days in town, settling a long way back from an outside draw and never coming on. Better for the hitout and this is significantly easier. Watch for sharp improvement. WILLIAM'S QUEST (5) has been no match for Redwinelover the last three times they've met but he does get in slightly better at the weights this time and strips fitter second-up. Can find the frame in a small field. REIGNING STAR (3) hasn't inspired confidence in her two runs back but looks best of the rest in a thin contest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Redwinelover to win again.

Second run back. First-up after 10 months ran last of 14 at Morphettville 0-70 on January 31 over 1050m, 7 len behind Mic Drop carrying 55.5kg at $101. Previously second-up 6th of 9 at Alice Springs 0 - 66 on March 16 over 1200m, 3.5 len behind Pompeii Empire carrying 59kg at $7. Will take a lot from that run and looks tough to beat.

Chasing a hat-trick. Comes here off a 33-day let-up. Last start favourite; won by 1.75 len at this track Bm56 January 17 over 1215m defeating Hot Off with 55kg at $2.80. The race before that favourite; won by a head at Oakbank F&M 0-56 December 19 over 1050m defeating Bellentia with 56kg at $7. Nicely placed and is right in the mix.
