Good early pressure with So Sain or Star Of Kongo likely to take up the running.
It is a weak maiden when a veteran of 28 starts goes on top but such is the case. STAR OF KONGO (12) led for home but was cut down late over 1700m at Grafton two back before a modest effort at Taree last time. Drops 2.5kgs under today's scale and Andrew Gibbons takes over. Has the right numbers to win a race of this calibre. EINSTEIN'S THEORY (1) has taken on a couple of $50k super maidens this prep and failed to measure up on either occasion. Cherry ripe now and back in his right race so watch for a better run. SO SAIN (3) led for the judge and looked to have her maiden win in the bag only to be bloused late over 1400m at Grafton last time out. That was easily the best of her eight runs - can go on with it now. EPIC STATEMENT (7) resumes. Wasn't beaten far first-up at Tamworth last prep. No surprise to see her prominent. FAIZA STAR (8) almost caused a boil-over here at this trip last time. Big chance again if that wasn't a fluke. SUGGESTED PLAY: Star Of Kongo to salute.
