Ouroboros should lead at a strong tempo. OUROBOROS (4) goes well for hoop Thornton who has a win and two placings from just three steers and has been racing very consistently this campaign. Has won two from three around this circuit and should be right there when the whips are cracking. The honest SIMPLY EXCELS (7) has only missed a drum once in seven career outings and that was a fourth on debut. Gets the reliable Gollan/Maloney combination and can make his presence felt. ALECTRONA (9) is knocking on the door of another victory with three consecutive runner-up finishes and maps ideally from gate three. Top-three aspirations. SHELSTEIN (6) saves his best form for this six-furlong journey and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Hard to toss. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Ouroboros.
