Swoomee Swan to find the front in the small field. SWOOMEE SWAN (6) was beaten by a head over 1200m at Riccarton when making her debut there nearly 3 weeks ago. That form has since been franked, and she should be too good for this lot, especially from a handy gate. AZILEE STAR (5) is a stablemate of the top pick who resumed from a spell last start, and finished a solid second over 1100m at Gore 12 days ago. She strips fitter and will relish the extra 300m. She is set to run the exacta with the top pick. MANU VUKA (3), a four-year-old mare by Mongolian Falcon out of Tatum, making her debut from the Stephanie Faulkner stable. Watch for any positive market signals, and she won't have to be above-average to run into the top 3 in this field. RIPA TIME (7) was well beaten in Stakes company at Riccarton last time out, and will find this assignment much easier. Stick with her for a top 4 finish here. MARELLA MISS (4) is making her South Island debut and is the best of the rest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Swoomee Swan should win this for fun.
