Genuine pace with Mikano Venus finding the front from her low draw. MIKANO VENUS (2) turned in a fine effort to score dominantly at this track and distance when first-up from a break last start. Facing a tougher assignment but she is worth serious consideration. BEAR SHOT (8) was a determined maiden winner last time out, scoring by a head here. Looks well placed and she cannot be discounted. TAKE NOTICE (3) doesn't win out of turn but ran a strong race last time out, finishing a narrow second. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. HEMEL (4) got the prize two runs ago but was less impressive last time out when sixth. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
