PIKO RED (15) was prominent on straightening and stuck on well to finish second last start over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten a neck when fresh from a spell as favourite. Yet to perform when second-up but is more mature now and should hold that form. SILFLAY (9) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race when fresh from a spell last time out, finishing third and beaten only 0.6 lengths over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt. Yet to miss the placings from four starts at this circuit. Big chance to find the winner's circle. TONIKEN SAMBA (8) is back at the races for the first time since June 22. Managed to fill a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1400m at this track. Has to be respected. TRAVELIN' BAND (3) did a reasonable job when resuming from a spell last start over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt, beaten 3.5 lengths. Likely improver with top three prospects.
