Strong tempo assured with Smart Golf, Turquoise Velocity and Majestic Valour rolling to the front. ALMIGHTY LIGHTNING (14) bolted in on debut before getting too far back and finishing 1L away as a $1.50 favourite last time out. Importantly, he steps out to 1200m today which looks a big tick for his chances. He looks to be above average and with no weight on his back, he can return to winning ways. SMART GOLF (2) is looking for a hat-trick of wins after holding on to score by 0.3L last start when leading. He's trialled strongly since and he has enough speed to offset the draw from out wide. Building nicely through the grades and can get the job done again. MAJESTIC VALOUR (7) resumes from a break here with some nice trials under his belt. Poon remains in the saddle from his recent trials around some handy types. The barrier is the query, but he looks a nice horse on the rise. CROSSBORDERPEGASUS (1) will need a touch of luck from the barrier but is good enough to feature with the fresh run under his belt.
