Elsueno to find the front in the small field. ELSUENO (3) disappointed last start when out to 1760m at Kalgoorlie but did pull up with an issue as well. Back to this trip looks ideal off of what we have seen recently and the claim of Riordan is a big tick. Can set the tempo and prove very hard to run down. FAST JOHN (2) got the job done at Derby four starts back but hasn't been able to run up to that performance since. This is his best opportunity to do so however, coming in on the fresh side and drawing to be positive. Wouldn't surprise to see him turn his form around. HOOCHIE GUCCI (4) was sound first-up at Geraldton at a big price but is well placed here on the back of that performance. Fitter and further are both ticks and he's likely to put his best foot forward. JIMMY SEVEN (1) was too good at Moora last time out. This is harder but he's right in the mix on that effort. JOHNNY WAFFLES (5) rounds them out. SUGGESTED PLAY: Elsueno gets the nod.
