In a race devoid of pace Final Impact will be prominent. GOOFINATOR (3) hit the line well last start to grab third over 2140m at Goulburn, a good follow-up from his determined win at the same track the start prior. Stays at the trip and looks set for another bold showing. CASINO STAGE (1) was dominant at Mudgee over 2000m, travelling sweetly before putting them away with authority. Hard to hold out if he repeats that effort. PINOT NERO (7) was eye-catching at Scone over the mile, dropping out early before storming home for third. Extra ground suits on the quick back-up and he looks a real threat. IT IS TO BE (4) hasn’t won this prep but continues to knock on the door, including a narrow defeat over 2140m at Goulburn last time. Genuine type who should be right in the finish again. FINAL IMPACT (2) never looked likely last start when getting a long way back but his form prior measures up. Don't dismiss completely. SUGGESTED PLAY: Goofinator gets the nod.
