Only a small field with St Edward likely to find a comfortable lead. CABRIOLE (2) resumes, now with the Freedman yard having run a good race on debut at Canterbury, sent out a $3.30 chance when third to Autumn Boy in a high rating maiden. He's won a trial leading into this and should take plenty of beating. ST EDWARD (8) showed good speed to lead at Mornington on debut and ran well, sticking on for second when beaten half a length. He should be better for that experience and will no doubt be suited around The Valley. AYE VEE AITCH (1) resumes. He may need further but showed ability in his maiden campaign. Can be strong late if they overdo it. KIRKSVILLE (7) worked home well at Bendigo on debut and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cabriole to win.
