Moderate tempo with Rach leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. Competitive. RASP (6) is fourth up and the Victorian-trained galloper was narrowly beaten at Bendigo 17 days ago. Likes it wet, and he was only beaten 3L in Stakes grade at Randwick at his only go over a mile. He's ready for the step-up and should be right in it. JMac is reunited with INDIGO STAR (2), who has set a solid foundation for the longer journey. He's been well supported without luck on the Kensington at his last two, and he should enjoy the run of the race. SLEUTH (10) has been nudged out in two of his last three over this trip and led them up at Gosford last time. Tumbles 6kg and hits this race at peak fitness. Has each-way claims. DOLLARS (8) found close to his best when narrowly beaten at Newcastle over this distance. He will be fitter again, and Morgan replaces the 1.5kg apprentice. The winkers come off, and he is worth considering at a price. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Rasp.
