Maui to take up the running with Pierant and Waitapu close at hand. Consistent gelding DESCENDING MIST (2) rallied nicely but came up agonisingly short last start over this course and distance. Meets a similar line up today and with a gun run assured from the inside gate he should be going one better. WAITAPU (3) took over before the corner then tired late and finished a distant fourth here at this trip in heavy going nine days ago. Finished over nine lengths behind Descending Mist and Mimessi that day. On a dry surface his chances are enhanced. Nine start maiden PIERANT (7) worked home well for third over the mile at Tamworth recently. Gets to this distance for the first time but it looks like a good move. MIMESSI (4) fought hard to just hold out Descending Mist here last start. Getting up in the weights but should be competitive again. MAUI (1) finished third in the Mimessi race after showing pace to the corner. Racing well and another top three finish is on the cards. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Descending Mist.
