Always plenty of early pressure in sprint races such as this with a large number of first starters. Wanaruah the likely leader. WANARUAH (6) is a Snitzel colt on debut for Waterhouse/Bott. Won a recent 1050m trial at Randwick in good style, suggesting he is forward enough to play a big role in a moderate maiden. STRAAND BEAUTY (9) settled last and tried hard but was left with too much to do on debut last start over this course and distance. Backs up just nine days later which is a positive sign from the stable. Sure to go well. RAILWAY MAN (8) last appeared when an unplaced favourite on debut over this distance on the Kensington track in January. Well-bred colt who should have more to offer this prep. HOUDINI SPIRIT (4) is a Harry Angel first starter who won a recent Hawkesbury trial in great style. Looks to have plenty of ability. HELL TO PAY (3) is on debut for the John O'Shea stable. Finished third to Wanaruah in his latest trial. Cannot be ruled out. SUGGESTED PLAY: Wanaruah to salute on debut.
