HOI MEI HANDICAP 1000m
ALWAYS MY FOLKS (2) has solid enough form to win this and gets Purton back aboard, while a recent trial suggests he has returned in good order. A wide gate is the concern, but he has enough ability to overcome it and looks a serious winning chance. JOLLY COMPANION (4) has been safely held at his last couple, but this looks a much more suitable assignment and he can bounce back sharply. RUNJEET (9) did plenty of work from a wide draw first-up, leading for a long way before fading into fourth. A good draw is a big advantage and with that run under his belt, he looks a strong top-4 prospect. SPICY SPANGLE (11) has a good draw, and his on-speed racing style should make full use of it. A solid trial against stronger opposition adds confidence and he appeals as the value each-way play. MACANESE MASTER (7) has the benefit of a recent run and the drop back to 1200m looks ideal. He can improve enough to feature in the finish. |

LIDO HANDICAP 1200m
HOLMES A COURT (5) resumes after scoring his first Hong Kong win at this track and distance in his only run last campaign. That performance suggests there is more upside to come. Drawn to land on speed, he looks the one to beat. DAN ATTACK (8) won fresh up this time last season and appears to have returned in similar order. He finished second over this course and distance last prep and a good barrier gives Bentley every chance to secure the right run. Each way. LOVING VIBES (11) signed off last season with 3 straight seconds after changing stables, and was narrowly beaten here over this trip. He should be even better this season, and he can go right on with the job. BRIGHT DAY (3) resumes from a spell, and he showed promise first-up last campaign, placing over 1200m at Sha Tin. He maps to get the perfect stalking run and he can be dangerous late. |

BIG WAVE BAY HANDICAP 1800m
ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT (6) comes here chasing a hat-trick after back-to-back wins over 2200m, with Teetan producing two superb mid-race moves. The drop to this trip is the query, but he has placed over it and drawing the pole position gives him every chance to continue his winning ways. NOISY BOY (1) gets Zac Purton aboard second-up in Class 4 after a strong trial win. His latest result is best forgiven and the jockey change is the key to a form reversal here. ROMANTIC LAOS (5) worked home strongly from last at this track last week and was doing his best work late for fifth. The better draw should allow him to settle closer and he looks a genuine each-way chance. CAN’T GO WONG (9) has placed in this race previously and arrives off consecutive thirds. He is racing too consistently to ignore and he is expected to be fighting out the finish again. STAR BROSE (10) resumes after a break following a narrow defeat over 2000m. If he returns near his best, he can sneak into the combos. |

THE COMMUNITY CHEST CUP (HANDICAP) 1200m
LIVE WIRE (3) looks ready to fire first-up after an excellent trial, having broken through at his final start last campaign. He has placed fresh before and a good barrier will see him map for the run of the race. He looks the one to beat. SAME TO YOU (12) won first-up this time last season off a similar rating and gets a huge swing his draw here. That could be the difference and he is a serious winning chance. SOMELOVEFROMABOVE (2) drops into Class 4 and impressed in a recent trial, suggesting the stable has him ready to rumble. He cops a tricky gate, but should still be very competitive. Each way. STARRY SHOW (5) gets the pole position after an upset win last start and another good trial indicates that effort was no fluke. Stick with him. GIANT LEAP (4) resumes after being beaten by 4 lengths last time out, but is capable of improving sharply fresh up, and he is worth including in all top 4 combos at a price. |

LIDO HANDICAP 1200m
YOUNG ARROW (6) was unlucky to miss a win last campaign, with poor draws and difficult runs repeatedly going against him. Zac Purton taking over is a big plus, and with a cleaner run, he looks ready to cash in first-up. LUCKY MCQUEEN (4) resumes off a last-start win and gets a perfect barrier to stalk the speed. His trial was encouraging and he will be ready to rumble fresh. WINNING MONEY (7) is likely to roll forward from a nice gate and could prove difficult to catch if he gets an uncontested lead. The pressure up front will determine his chances, but he is still a top 4 threat. GRATIFIDE (1) broke through impressively at his final run last season and may have more improvement in him. tricky draw is the concern, but he is one to follow this campaign. FORZA LEADER (11) charged home for third over 1200m last start and looks capable of running another bold race. He appeals as a value runner for the exotics. Watch for him late. |

CHUNG HOM KOK HANDICAP 1650m
HIGHLAND RAHY (5) looks to secure a soft lead if he finds the front from a good draw without any early pressure. He nearly stole it fresh last season before being collared late and this looks another set-up where he will take plenty of pegging back. DAZZLING FIT (1) resumes from the pole position for his first Happy Valley run and that draw is a big advantage. A couple of encouraging trials suggest he is forward enough, and with Zac Purton in the irons, he won't be far away. ROMANTIC GLADIATOR (3) is a progressive 3YO who finished second over this course and distance last campaign. A pair of trials have brought him along nicely and he looks ready to fire. WROTE A NEW PAGE (4) changes stables and has a strong record over this journey, winning 3 of his 4 starts. He will go forward from the wide gate, and is worthy of each-way consideration. POPE CODY (2) ran home strongly over 1800m last time and can figure in the top 3 here. |

REPULSE BAY HANDICAP 1000m
DANCING CLASSICS (4) looked a different horse once the blinkers went on, putting a gap in his rivals after a superb Moreira ride. A good gate gives him every chance to get the right run and he can go back-to-back. BUNTA BABY (5) had an outstanding campaign last season and has trialled sharply for his return. He likes to get back and finish hard, and with Zac Purton staying aboard, he looks a big winning chance. LOVE TOGETHER (1) won twice last season and has continued to impress for the Fownes stable. He is a genuine danger in this even contest, and can make his presence felt late. HORSEPOWER (3) has a few quirks, but boasts an excellent first-up record with 3 wins from 5 attempts. He will be ready to rumble, and is hard to leave out. CANDLELIGHT DINNER (2) was a solid second over this course and distance last time and is another genuine top-4 chance. |

SHEK O HANDICAP 1650m
MAX QUE (8) will be a fit horse after charging home over 1400m at Sha Tin only 10 days ago. That run should have him tightened right up and back at this venue he looks a serious winning chance. SPEED DRAGON (1) draws perfectly in the pole position and should get every chance to control the race or settle handy. The 1650m is a touch short of his best, but he maps to receive a suitable run in transit, and he can take this out . SILVERY BREEZE (7) returns to his preferred track after solid efforts at Sha Tin recently. A wide draw is no help, but he comes to hand quickly, and should not be underestimated. LE ZONDA (12) finished last season with back-to-back wins over 1800m and looked a horse with plenty of upside. The shorter trip is the query, but he is still one of the top 4 chances. ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE (11) resumes after a disappointing effort following 2 straight wins. If he returns anywhere near that winning form, he can have a say in the finish. |
