NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:45 TQCSI Three-Year-Old Benchmark 64 Handicap 1400m
Sidebar and Leading Ride can pave the way. THE OBVIOUS CHILD (4) got going too late on debut when finishing runner-up as the favourite by half a length at Murray Bridge 2 weeks ago. The extra 200m is ideal, and he is the one to beat for us. Follow your money. LEADING RIDE (5) fought on gamely to hold third on debut in the same race as the top pick. He is bred to improve with more time, and the extra 200m will also suit him. Each-way claims. SIDEBAR (1) led all the way to beat the top pick and will carry the same weight this time. There is no reason why he can't repeat the dose if he sees out 1400m. TIKKAMOS (2) finished a solid third fresh up in weekend company at Morphettville 18 days ago, and he has since been gelded. He steps up from 1100m to 1400m and can take this out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Tikkamos each-way.
2 12:20 Clare Valley Toyota Maiden Plate 1600m
Only a small field but Last Weeks Pay, Pretty Morsel and Largs Legacy will ensure a genuine tempo. EMPIRE RULER (1) has fought hard each time to finish third in both of his starts back from a spell, and he should cope with the 7-day back-up for this peak run. He may be looking for further, but King Callow sticks with him, and so do we. SKY DEEL (2) did nothing fresh up from his new stable but needed the run over a trip that was well short of his best. He drops in class, has the winkers on for the first time, and over 1600m, he can finish a whole lot closer. Keep safe. LARGS LEGACY (4) has been a very consistent mare and looks to have started this prep off in the same manner as her last when finishing third fresh up at Murray Bridge. She has the pole position and can take this out. LAST WEEKS PAY (5) set the pace off a wide gate last start, and only folded up late, finishing fourth. Similar tactics from a kinder draw on this track would make her very hard to peg back. PRETTY MORSEL (6) has been brave in defeat in her last couple of starts and is overdue to pick up a win.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Last Weeks Pay each-way.
3 12:55 Agfert Maiden Plate 1300m
Moderate pace from Road To The City taking it up with Strong Minded and The Punk Rocker on his back. MAJESTIC FURY (8) looked good at the trials before being a beaten favourite on debut at Mildura after missing the kick and running on too late to finish runner-up. She will naturally improve from that experience, and the extra 292m will make her the one to beat. Follow your money. STRONG MINDED (3) has been in good form through the winter on wet tracks, finishing runner-up in his last 3 starts. He has a kind draw, and as long as the tracks remain wet, he will be very competitive again. WILLEBOB (5) only battled fresh up in his first run as a gelding, and he will don the blinkers for the first time, second up from a spell. Expect something a lot better here. Each-way. VELOCITY ROSE (10) met some trouble fresh up when bottled up on the inside, and once clear, she hit the line nicely. She won a trial before that, and with the blinkers applied, she can figure in the top 3.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Majestic Fury can win this.
4 01:30 Adelaide Galvanising Industries Maiden Plate 1050m
Fast pace assured with Total Love, Atomic Time and Canny Miss leading the charge. ATOMIC TIME (1) did everything but win at Murray Bridge 2 weeks ago over 900m, and surely his day in the sun is not far away. The extra 150m will suit him, and even from a wide gate, he can still get the job done here. SIMPLY SID (3) made progress at the back end of his last prep, and he is another gelding who has needed time to mature. He has trialled up quietly, and with the aid of a good draw, he can give this a shake. SNOBZ (4) was put aside after being well beaten on debut as the favourite, and he then looked a lot better when third fresh up 2 weeks ago over 900m off the back of a pair of trial wins. He cops another tough gate but stick with him. CANNY MISS (9) is resuming from a spell that would have done her the world of good. She was second as the favourite in her only run to date at Bairnsdale in June. Since then she has switched yards and will be ready to rumble, especially from the pole position. TOTAL LOVE (5) has plenty of talent and is an each-way threat fresh up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Snobz each-way.
5 02:05 BMD Colts, Geldings & Entires Rating 0 - 56 Handicap 1050m
Moderate tempo with Utah Joe leading the way. THE MAGISTRATE (3) battled away gamely for sixth at Morphettville Parks 11 days ago in a tougher field, and he will be dropping right back down in class here. He has winning form on this circuit, and we think he has a terrific chance to break his win drought in this. ECLAIR VITALITY (1) strode up like the winner at Mildura fresh up 11 days ago and was only bloused out late after hitting the front late in the home straight. He strips fitter and is nicely poised to go one better. HE'S A COOL CAT (2) won in a similar grade to this 3 starts back, and after 2 runs in town, he is back to this level with an extra 3kg to carry. Stick with him on an each-way basis. SWEATBAND (4) has recently joined the Grant Kluse stable from Victoria and last raced nearly 6 weeks ago at Mildura. The new surroundings could help him find form again. UTAH JOE (7) is a durable veteran resuming, and he won a recent trial quite nicely. Check the market moves in a modest field.  SUGGESTED PLAY: He's A Cool Cat each-way.
6 02:40 Coopers Dry 3.5 Fillies & Mares Rating 0 - 56 Handicap 1050m
Solid pace with Mystic Mind finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. RICH LADY (8) has found it very hard to win another race and is back at the races as a 7YO mare. She has been placed in 7 of her 10 starts here over the trip and did win a recent trial well enough. It is hard to put her on top, but a win in this modest field is well within reach. JUST LIKE LISA (4) is a durable veteran racing in good form on wet tracks, and a firmer surface is no problem for this 10-race winner. She is a proven weight carrier at this level and has a big chance to break her win drought. VERCELLI (2) has only been lightly tried and resumes from a spell without any public trials. This is easier than her last couple of races in the autumn, and she is well worth including in all top 4 combos. BELLENTIA (1) has been thereabouts, including winning her penultimate start, for in-form trainer Kristi Evans. Each-way claims on a wet track. REOFFER (6) was beaten by a wide gate last week at Murray Bridge, and she can make amends in this.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Rich Lady each-way.
7 03:15 Campolina Benchmark 56 Handicap 2200m
Expecting plenty of speed from Bit Of A Rebel, Suit Of Wands and Overloaded from Cracken Good Time. SUIT OF WANDS (3) led all the way to win 2 starts back and then stepped up in class to finish runner-up in a stronger field than this off a wide gate 11 days ago. He might rise 4.5kg for this, but he should still be the one to beat. CHANCE TAKEN (10) did not have all the favours as the favourite at Murray Bridge last time out and ran on well enough to finish sixth over 1800m. He has won over this trip of 2200m, and is good enough to take this out, so follow your money. EAGLELOU (6) did not run on at all last start in a tougher field, and he is much better placed in this. He has not missed a cheque in 3 starts here over the distance, including a win, and is expected to bounce back into the money here. GEETEE FORTY (12) has been thereabouts this prep, and on a wet track he is certainly worth including in all top 4 combos. TEE EIGHT (9) got home nicely for second last week at Murray Bridge, and a repeat of that run will have him in the top 3 again here.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Suit Of Wands can win this.
8 03:50 Taylors Wines Benchmark 66 Handicap 1200m
Solid tempo with Nasho, Brave Apache and Tydeus going hard, closely attended by Super Lad. BAYOU MUSIC (5) showed talent last season when trained in Victoria, and he returns fresh up for the Clarken/Sorby stable with some improving trial form under his belt. He benefits from a 2kg claim, and at this suitable level, he is the one to beat for us. SUPER LAD (1) was outpaced fresh up in a tougher field at Morphettville 11 days ago after some solid lead-up trial form, and he will be a lot sharper second up. A 2kg claim will negate the weight rise, and he can have a say in the finish of this race. BRAVE APACHE (6) will be having his first run in this State after following his trainer over from WA. He has had a recent quiet trial and usually comes to hand quickly. Respect him on an each-way basis. EMBELLISHER (8) has won here in the past and is worth including in all top 4 combos.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Bayou Music can win this.
9 04:25 BTR Excavations Balaklava Cup (Heat of the Provincial Mile Series) 1600m
Genuine tempo with Bootlegger to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. CICALA (11) has not had much joy with her barrier draws in her last couple of starts, but has still been going great races, finishing fifth in the Listed Leon Macdonald Stakes just over 3 weeks ago. She has won a trial since then, and will have Jamie Melham over to ride, which is a very strong lead. On top. SNOOPY NOW (9) dropped back to 1200m as a tune-up for this race and hit the line powerfully late to finish fourth. He has won a trial since that effort 18 days ago, and with the step up to 1600m, he will be hard to hold out. BOOTLEGGER (2) is a very progressive gelding who will still be on the up with his fitness after a last start all the way win in the Leon Macdonald. He cops another tough gate, but if he finds the front again, then watch out. AIR ASSAULT (1) finished runner-up behind the third pick in the same race last time out. He has won 4 of his 7 starts third up in the past and should go close to taking this out. REMATCH (12) is very consistent, so keep him safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Snoopy Now each-way.
10 05:00 Sportsbet Racing Form Rating 0 - 56 Handicap 1400m
Expecting Limbering to take up the running with Roadking and Koratora close at hand. UPTOWN MONK (3) has found the line nicely in both of his starts back from a spell, and he looks to be a lot stronger this season after not quite living up to expectations last time in work. Getting out to 1400m is the key, and if this trip is not already too short for him, he can have the last say. ROYAL SCRIPTURE (5) has had 4 starts back from a spell in tougher fields than this, and he is crying out for some firmer surfaces. A wide gate is no help, but at this level, he can get into the money at some each-way value. PRODIGAL LAD (4) has been racing over shorter trips than 1400m, and a form reversal is on the cards. KORATORA (8) weakened off a tough run when well found in the market last time out at Strathalbyn, and she is worth another chance, especially if she can find the front early on. Stick with her. ROADKING (2) can be a sharp improver second up. Keep safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Royal Scripture each-way.
