NUM TIME COMMENT
1 09:50 Maiden Race 1700m
YODOGIMI (16) turned in a better run last time to finish second over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt. Likely improver with strong prospects. LEON PRIME (14) made her debut last start and was just fair in finishing fourth at Chukyo Dirt over 1400m, beaten 7 lengths. Plenty of scope for improvement and worth following up. ANDRINA (8) raced once in the maiden preparation when fourth at Niigata Dirt over 1800m back on October 14. Can improve sharply. ROUGE MIRAGE (15) has been in the betting at both starts but hasn't managed to break through. Most recently finished eighth over 1700m at this track, beaten 7 lengths. Strong top-three chance.
2 10:20 Maiden Race 1800m
SNARK PICASSO (6) was resuming from a spell of three months last start when a solid second over this course and distance. Daito Ozawa has registered two minor placings when on board. Fitter and ready to win. WIN CHAGAS (2) finished tenth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1800m at this track, beaten 2.25 lengths. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. VIA STELLA (16) returns after ten weeks in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a sixth over 1800m at Nakayama. Rates highly and is a chance to break through. TWO M KHRONOS (3) finished 9 lengths from the winner in fourth at his most recent outing over 1800m at this track. Expected to feature in the finish this time.
3 10:50 Allowance Race 1000m
STJARN GOSSE (7) finished third when resuming from a spell last start over 1000m at this track. This looks an ideal assignment. PALAIS FAUCON (3) stalked the pace when resuming at this track and trip last start then worked to the line steadily to finish second. Among the leading chances. PLACE DAUPHINE (5) returns from a spell of ten weeks. Was safely held at the only appearance last prep when sixth over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt. Should be prominent from the outset. One of the main contenders. SIRIUS (6) found the line nicely last start to get up for third over 1000m at this track when fresh from a spell. Has a high cruising speed. Solid claims on best form.
4 11:20 Open Class Race 3390m
UNCLE BLACK (8) comes here off a nice win 28 days back in a steeplechase (3170m) at Kyoto. That result was on the back of a solid third in a steeplechase (3170m) at Kyoto two starts ago. Tough to stop again. VARIAMENTE (3) finished second two back in a G2 steeplechase (3930m) at Kyoto. Couldn't emulate that effort last time out, beaten 15 lengths into fifth in a steeplechase (3210m) at Nakayama. Certainly worth including. RED BAROSSA (4) has put in a couple of moderate performances since resuming. Opened with an unplaced effort in a G3 steeplechase (3170m) at Kyoto then clocked-in fifth last time in a steeplechase (3200m) at Nakayama. Worth serious consideration. MEINER AILE (9) has been going well. Saluted in a maiden steeplechase (2770m) at Fukushima two starts back then finished second last time, beaten 4 lengths, in a steeplechase (3300m) at Chukyo. Not to be taken lightly.
5 12:10 Maiden Race 2860m
FREEDOM REIGN (8) missed the frame two runs ago in a maiden steeplechase (3000m) at Chukyo. Turned things around last time when he filled a minor placing in a maiden steeplechase (2860m) at this track. Set to continue the upward trend. ANGEL ROUND (2) was returning from a layoff last start when beaten 6 lengths into fourth in a maiden steeplechase (2860m) at this track. Improvement in store. TALENTUEUSE (4) did a reasonable job when he finished second in a maiden steeplechase (2770m) at Fukushima two runs back. Less effective last time when 14 lengths away in sixth in a maiden steeplechase (2880m) at Nakayama. Expect a return to form. MEINER MESSIAH (9) was unplaced two runs ago in a maiden steeplechase (2910m) at Kyoto. Bounced back last time when he filled a minor placing in a maiden steeplechase (2860m) at this track. Capable of a another forward showing.
6 12:45 Maiden Race 2000m
URSPRUNG (13) improved last time out, finishing 1.3 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 1800m at this track. Finds a suitable race and can build on that solid recent effort. YO HIN (11) returned last time with a solid second at this track over 2000m after being in the firing line on the turn. Hard to beat in this suitable race. RUN FOR SMILE (15) resumes from a spell of three-and-a-half months. Could only manage to finish fourth at the latest run over 1800m at Kyoto. Among the chances while fresh. HO O TITAN (8) wasn't far away on debut last start over 1600m at Kyoto, finishing sixth and beaten 5.5 lengths. Has upside and worth including.
7 01:15 Maiden Race 1200m
AYRTON BAROWS (7) will find this a little easier than his third on debut three weeks ago, beaten half a length at the end of 1200m at this track. Sure to take a lot from that hitout so he should pay to follow. BERLINETTA (1) is yet to break through after six career starts. Could only manage to finish fifth last time out over 1200m at this track following a minor placing at Nakayama when fresh from a spell the run prior. Likely to be about the money. ROYAL WILL (8) finished 6 lengths from the winner in sixth last time out over 1400m at Chukyo on January 6. Has a high cruising speed. One of the main contenders. REEF AQUARIUM (15) stepped out on his debut over 1600m at Nakayama six-and-a-half weeks ago and finished sixth, beaten 5 lengths. Will take a lot from that last run and is worth following up.
8 01:45 Allowance Race 1700m
SAND BLAST (1) pushed forward from a wide draw when first-up from a break last time out and found the front, holding the lead for most of the way and sticking on well to finish second over 1700m at this track. Well-placed and is going to prove tough to run down. TAKENO SHINSEI (13) finished fourth two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1700m at this track, beaten only 0.8 lengths. Likely improver with strong prospects. RED LIGHTNING (4) could only manage sixth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1700m at this track, beaten 3 lengths after being in the firing line on the corner. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. HIHIN (8) finished eighth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1700m at this track, beaten 3.5 lengths. Finds a suitable race and can play a major role.
9 02:15 AKIYOSHIDAI TOKUBETSU 1200m
ADMIRE J (12) lines up for the first time since November 3. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings over 1200m at Chukyo. Capable of playing a major role. BLUE EYED GIRL (17) resumed last time out and finished third over 1200m at this track, beaten 2 lengths. Should be in the finish. DRUNK MAN (1) ran above expectations and got up for second at long odds at his latest appearance at this track over 1200m. Good signs last time and can play a major role. JAGUAR (4) improved last start when second-up but found one better over 1200m at this track, beaten only a nose. No surprise to see him in the frame.
10 02:50 SARAKURAYAMA TOKUBETSU 2600m
SEIUN PURSUIT (5) did a great job to score by a neck over today's course and distance when resuming from a layoff last time out. Steps up a level but he is worth serious consideration. TROPICAL LIGHT (4) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with just two wins from 20 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fourth over 2600m at this track, beaten 2.5 lengths. In the right race and there is no reason she cannot get the major prize. CARRY HAPPINESS (1) is back from a break of three months. Raced below par at his only appearance last prep when fourth over 2200m at Kyoto. Should be poised just off the lead. Will be in this for a long way. VOLANTE (3) found the line nicely last start to get up for second over 2600m at this track. Among the main hopes.
11 03:25 KOKURAJO STAKES 1700m
RECIPROCITY (1) turned in a fine effort to win by one length at today's track and distance last time out to make it two-for-two this prep. The engagement of Yuji Tannai is noteworthy. Meets some better types this time but another big run will not surprise. GEORGE TESORO (5) turned in a solid fresh performance last start when a minor placegetter over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten 1.75 lengths. Has a strong record when second-up, including three wins, and should be better for that first-up run. Ready to find best form. GOD BLUE BEE (4) knuckled down strongly to get within 1.3 lengths of the winner in second last start over 1700m at this track when coming back from a spell. Has good early toe so he should be handy in the run. Will give backers a great sight. MEISHO HOMARE (7) was in the firing line on the corner and finished third last start at the first run back from a spell over 1700m at this track, beaten 2 lengths. Will strip fitter this time. Has a solid record at this course and distance, including two wins. Nicely placed to play a role in the finish.
12 04:01 Allowance Race 2000m
WISMAR (5) boxed on to finish second last start over 2000m at this track, beaten a neck. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. MEINER FRANTZ (11) is struggling to break through but hasn't been far away, the latest effort a fourth beaten 1.3 lengths over 2000m at this track. Winning rider Yuji Tannai sticks. Should be hard to stop. ELAN (12) finished sixth over 2000m at this track when resuming last start, beaten only 1.75 lengths. This doesn't look as hard so he can turn things around. CONTAINER WORLD (4) turned in a much better effort last time out to score by 5 lengths over 2860m at this track. Likely to be there at the finish again.
