NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:15 HKJC World Pool Handicap 1100m
Samangu is the probable leader in the small field. Sticking with PONDALOWIE (3) who just got into an awful spot first up in the WJ Adams, back and trapped inside runners over 1000m as favourite. She's far better suited getting to 1100m where she boasts a win over She's Bulletproof and a close second to Niance. MRS CHRISSIE (2) also comes through the WJ Adams when a bit disappointing but had been racing well prior and is better placed here. SAMANGU (5) had her winning streak come to an end last time but she's still progressive and can run well. MISS ARIA (1) ran some slick sectionals first up in the G2 Rubiton Stakes but may find them a bit too sharp again from the wide gate here.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pondalowie to win.
2 12:45 Senet Gambling Law Experts Handicap 1100m
Beast Mode and Chinqui can be prominent. DON'T HOPE DO (7) has had a few issues, resuming from a short break at Sandown Lakeside over 1000m last time and sticking on well for a narrow fourth. He should be fitter for that and 1100m is far more suitable. CHINQUI (11) was a strong winner at the Caulfield Heath track last start over the smart Odinson, simply proving too fast out in front. Williams takes the ride from an ideal gate, he'll be very hard to catch again. WINNASEDGE (9) wasn't far away fresh and did run some good races against handy opposition last time in. Up to 1100m suits, he should be hard to hold out. LEGIO TEN (5) wasn't far away fresh at Flemington and does boast a good record over this trip. He should be hitting the line late.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Don't Hope Do to win.
3 01:20 Stow Storage Autumn Classic 1800m
A race that lacks early pressure on paper. IMPERIALIST (2) can give this a shake at each way odds. He settled well back at Canterbury second up over 1550m but ran some slick late sectionals to grab third in a slowly run race. He'll relish the rise in trip and the Waller yard must be respected. EMPHASIZE (5) was dominant breaking his maiden at Sale two back and measured up to beat the older horses here last time in a tough effort. Back to his own age here, he should go close. SHANWAH (4) has won his past two, far too good in BM64 grade at Caulfield Heath last time out. He can settle close to the speed and take beating. ENTRUSTING (3) appreciated the rise to this trip when winning at Sandown Lakeside and will be hard to hold out. SCARY (1) is the class stayer. Interesting to see him back up from the CS Hayes last week, where he only got warm late. This trip suits far better, he might need even further to perform.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Imperialist on top.
4 01:55 Carlton Draught Zeditave Stakes 1200m
Pace a scorcher, headed by Lofty Arch, Parliamentary and Interest Point, closely followed by Polyglot and Shadhavar. LOFTY ARCH (1) resumes. He's won two from three, taking the Gothic Stakes here before a spell over this route. The stable opted to spell him after that rather tackle the Coolmore and he can continue to progress this time in. TROPICUS (2) ran well fresh over in the G3 Manfred, albeit in a messy finish. Wonder whether he might be wanting more ground now but he can land in a good spot and be strong late. SHADHAVAR (9) resumed from a short spell in the G3 Peter Le Grand Stakes and stuck on well behind Arabian Summer, who is a live chance in the Oakleigh Plate later. She's a genuine chance on that effort. POLYGLOT (3) was only edged out late at Rosehill but has always promised good ability. He should measure up. SERGEANT MAJOR (5) may find this a bit sharp but has ability and can be charging late.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Lofty Arch to win.
5 02:30 Sportsbet Angus Armanasco Stakes 1400m
Genuine tempo from Too Darn Lizzie leading Treasurethe Moment. TOO DARN LIZZIE (2) sets up well fresh. She won the G2 Thousand Guineas Prelude over this route in the Spring, albeit with conditions to suit, and was good again in the Guineas itself when third. Two Sydney trials should have her forward for this. BENAGIL (5) didn't have much luck throughout last campaign, some through her own doing. She looked stiff in the Thousand Guineas and while likely to get back, she has talent and can win. TREASURETHE MOMENT (1) is the VRC Oaks winner resuming. She won four in a row last time in and does have the zip to figure at 1400m if she's wound up enough. PERFECT PICTURE (8) has upside and can figure.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Too Darn Lizzie to win.
6 03:05 Catanach's Jewellers Mannerism Stakes 1400m
Genuine tempo with Grinzinger Belle leading the way. SEMANA (4) looks much better placed back to her own sex having run quite well in the G1 CF Orr Stakes behind Another Wil and Mr Brightside. She was beaten six lengths but found the line well late for fifth and sets up nicely from the draw here. GRINZINGER BELLE (2) resumes. She was a dominant all the way winner first up last time in at Flemington but that was a strange race run in suddenly torrential conditions. She'll roll to the front here and should take plenty of catching. SO GLAMOROUS (8) ran well fresh in the G3 Bellmaine Stakes behind She's Bulletproof who will be hard to beat in the Oakleigh Plate. She should appreciate 1400m and looks a live chance off that effort. Both QUINTESSA (1) and COEUR VOLANTE (6) were just fair in the Bellmaine but both should improve out to 1400m.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Semana to win.
7 03:40 Lamaro's Hotel Futurity Stakes 1400m
Solid tempo headed by Pericles and Mr Brightside. The first of our Group Ones and MR BRIGHTSIDE (1) clearly goes on top. He was beaten first up in the Orr by Another Wil but did work early from a wide gate and the market said the winner was tuned right up, which he was. Mr B gave his all and ran as well, if not better than his usual fresh runs. Drawn wide again but he'll be fitter and it'll take a big performance to knock the champ off. I WISH I WIN (2) is the one capable of doing so. Pigeonholed as a sprinter following his win in the TJ Smith Stakes on very heavy ground, remember he's beaten Fangirl in a 1500m Golden Eagle and was only beaten half a length by Mr B in the Memsie Stakes over this route in 2023. He'll be charging late. PERICLES (3) can run well fresh. He's consistent, maps for a soft run and should be competitive. PRIVATE LIFE (10) was sound in the Orr but has a few lengths to find. EVAPORATE (11) was luckless fresh and can figure.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mr Brightside to win.
8 04:15 Sportsbet Blue Diamond Stakes 1200m
Plenty of pressure with The Playwright, Field Of Play and My Gladiola leading the charge. The Blue Diamond and MY GLADIOLA (11) can bounce back in the Group 1. She was awesome on debut in the Fillies Preview before leading as a $1.95 favourite in the Prelude and being overrun late. Fancy she'll have something to chase here and she should elevate again. PALM ANGEL (9) beat My Gladiola fair and square last time to even the ledger at 1-1. She should get a soft trail from the inside and has the turn of foot to take the gaps that come. FIELD OF PLAY (1) resumed in the Colts and Celdings Prelude and proved too strong to remain unbeaten. A strong 1200m should be right up his alley and he draws ideally. TEMPTED (15) flashed home in the G3 Widden Stakes at Rosehill last time and should be charging at them late here. Very wary of CHERISH ME (14) who was put away following a very good win in the Geelong Diamond, backed up by some big late splits. It's hard to gauge how good she might be.  SUGGESTED PLAY: My Gladiola to win.
9 04:55 Sportsbet Oakleigh Plate 1100m
Pace a scorcher, headed by Golden Boom, Insurrection and Estriella, closely followed by I Am Me and Ostraka. The G1 Oakleigh Plate and SHE'S BULLETPROOF (15) sets up nicely here with 52kg. She was dominant winning the G3 Bellmaine Stakes at Sandown Lakeside second up, posting a very competitive rating. Williams takes the ride from a suitable middle draw which can see her midfield with cover and too strong late. ESTRIELLA (2) resumes. She's a talented, speedy mare who started favourite in the G1 Moir Stakes fresh last preparation. She's 2/2 at Caulfield and gets Shinn aboard. I AM ME (1) was scratched from last week's G1 Lightning Stakes for this. First up last campaign she beat Bella Nipotina which is the clear benchmark for this, hence the 57kg. She can lead or take a sit from the gate and is too classy to ignore. REY MAGNERIO (5) sprinted very quickly to win the G2 Rubiton Stakes here fresh and should get a nice run midfield here. Wary of the colt ESPIONAGE (17) who won at G3 level very well before a long spell.  SUGGESTED PLAY: She's Bulletproof to win.
10 05:35 Sportsbet Victoria Gold Cup 2000m
Strong tempo with Deny Knowledge and Smokin' Romans leading the way over Herman Hesse. Tipping POSITIVITY (7) can improve out of sight second up. She was very poorly suited first up in a farcically run mile at Flemington with 59kg, finishing last but only beaten four lengths. Last preparation she won the G3 MRC Foundation Cup over this route. Expecting the tactics to be far more positive here with that run under the belt. DENY KNOWLEDGE (1) resumes. She was excellent fresh last time in off a wide run in the G1 Underwood Stakes and ended up winning a G1 Might And Power here over Mr Brightside. Anything like that wins this, although she does have to give them all weight. SHAIYHAR (10) beat the progressive Deakin at his preferred Flemington two back but was good over this route last time and should be competitive again. HERMAN HESSE (4) resumes off a short spell and has the ability to figure although 2400m is more his go. SMOKIN' ROMANS (2) also resumes and should be thereabouts trailing the speed from the inside gate.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Positivity to win.
