Ladies Day March 22 Open Handicap 1200m
Grinzinger Lass to take charge ahead of Sneaky Freddy at a strong tempo. FORGETABOUTIT (1) just missed the bob of the head when finishing second by a nose fresh up in his first local start since arriving from Queensland. He has the winkers on for the first time and with that run under his belt, he is the one to beat in this. SNEAKY FREDDY (2) was fourth fresh up in the same race as the top pick and will continue to improve with racing. Each way claims from a superior draw this time. KING BLING (3) is an ex-Victorian gelding who is expected to make a positive start to his local career fresh up in the small field. GRINZINGER LASS (5) is another ex-Victorian resuming from a 7-week freshen up and she should not have any trouble finding some good form at short notice. BOOM SMASH OPERA (4) strips fitter second up and a 5-horse field means he has a chance to run into the money for the first time in his career. SUGGESTED PLAY: Forgetaboutit to win. |

Ladbrokes Red Centre Luncheon 4 April Handicap 1000m
Plenty of pace with Hurn Court and Delago Lad up front, pressured by Brat and Beau Factor. BRAT (1) has the fitness edge over his main rivals and was forced to work too hard outside the leader in a 4-horse field here 2 weeks ago over 1400m. He is much better placed over the sprint trips and with 400m less to travel this time, he is expected to bounce straight back into the money. Can win. BEAU FACTOR (2) won all 4 of his starts on this track last prep and led all the way over a mile when winning the last of those during the spring. This trip is short of his best but he cannot be risked in a small field. LITTLE TOWN BLUES (4) is a speedy ex-Queensland gelding who was too slick fresh up here when making his local debut, scoring by over 2 lengths. Go again. DELAGO LAD (3) just loves racing here and is racing as well as ever. He can secure the run of the race from the pole position and can have the last say. HURN COURT (5) is resuming from a spell and usually needs a run. He has plenty of pace and can't be totally ignored when considering top 4 placings. SUGGESTED PLAY: Brat to win. |

DJ Bingil In The Marquee Cup Day Handicap 1000m
Good tempo with several going forward, primarily Family Ties, Hello Carol and Revolution Rising. REVOLUTION RISING (2) showed a lot of grit when getting in the final stride to score by a nose to break his maiden status here nearly 3 weeks ago. He has the advantage of the pole position and can take the next step immediately. RED HAWK (3) is resuming from a spell and usually comes to hand quickly. He was placed in 1 of his 3 starts on this track after making the move from Victoria and with more time to acclimatise, he can make a positive start to this prep. FAMILY TIES (5) will be peaking third up and was not far from the winner when finishing fourth here last week. He is down in grade and ready to put his best hoof forward. ANOTHER VAL (1) found some good form late in his last prep and will be even stronger this year. He might need the run but is still worth including in all combinations. REALTIN (6) ran a much better race for second after leading last start and is likely to be tried in that role again here. He has a good draw and will take some pegging back. SUGGESTED PLAY: Revolution Rising to win. |

Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap 1400m
Super Sharp has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. SUPER SHARP (2) made a winning local debut from a new stable when scoring a tough win by a neck here 2 weeks ago. The step up from 1200m to 1400m is ideal and he is expected to continue to progress through the grades this year. Go again. LETHAL ENCOUNTER (5) raced his way into full fitness and scored an upset win here nearly 7 weeks ago. He usually holds his form and with the benefit of a 2kg claim, he gets to carry the same weight. Stick with him. TRAVANTI (3) ruined his chances last start by missing the start badly. His form before that was good and he can make amends. Each way value. PRANCINGINTHERAIN (7) ran on nicely late when finishing third here over 1200m a fortnight ago. She should be strong enough to cope with the step up to 1400m and with 2kg less to carry this time, she could get the job done. SUGGESTED PLAY: Super Sharp to win. |

Ladbrokes Alice Springs Cup 6 April Handicap 1400m
A solid tempo is on the cards with Daniher and Altar Boy pushing for the lead ahead of Black Zous and Nasty Streak. ALTAR BOY (4) was very disappointing last start but did himself no favours by missing the kick. There will be no excuse with his fitness third up from a spell and his record over 1400m on this track is very strong. With an even beginning, he is the one to beat. DANIHER (1) is resuming from a spell after making steady progress last prep during the winter months. She is nicely placed at this level after a 2kg claim and even though he might need the hit-out, he can still figure in the finish. THE GIRL'S BOY (3) made up a lot of late ground when racing in second fresh up here last week. The extra 400m is ideal and if this race has not come too soon, he can go one better. BLACK ZOUS (2) has been in the money since winning his first start on this track fresh up in December. He can make the most of this good draw and should be right in the finish again. RISING FIRE (5) has been beaten by a pair of wide draws in his last couple of starts and is due a chance of luck. Don't risk him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Altar Boy to win. |

Congratulations Sonja Logan 500 Winners Handicap 1600m
Venting has the pace to lead in what is likely to be a moderate tempo. VENTING (2) fought back gamely when finishing runner-up by a short-head here in a 4-horse field a fortnight ago. He has a terrific record on this track and normally holds his form when fit. He is nicely placed to go one better this time. DUTY (4) last raced 5 weeks ago when finishing fifth here over 1400m. He is more suited to racing over a mile and with a 4kg weight drop, he can bounce back into the money here. HASSELTOFF (1) is a durable veteran who made it 3 wins in his last 4 starts when scoring a soft win by well over a length at Morphettville 4 weeks ago. That sort of form stacks up nicely in this and even with the top weight, he can win again. TINTERN POWER (5) does not win often but has been in the top 3 on many occasions, including his last couple of starts here over a mile. Stick with him for all combinations. PHOENIX FLYER (3) is a former Queensland-trained veteran who still has plenty of zest for racing. He usually takes a run and the market will be your best guide. SUGGESTED PLAY: Venting to win. |
