NUM TIME COMMENT
1 05:45 Sheen Panel Service Pakenham 2YO Maiden Plate (Chute) 1200m
Anticipating a good amount of early pressure with many of these babies facing the starter for the first time. VINROCK (9) is an I Am Invincible colt on debut and he owns sharp Cranbourne trial. Zahra sticks aboard is a decent push for his chances. Maps for a soft run and this is a winnable assignment. PAFITIS (3) resumes and has switched to the premier stable. He was okay in a rich Ballarat Open 2 on debut and is sure to have come on. Jumps from an inside barrier and the in-form Ethan Brown is a positive jockey booking. Stablemate SIRIUSLY HOT (6) was slow out but finished it off okay in an Open 2 at Caulfield Heath on debut. He's trialled up well and has the first-time blinkers applied. The gate is awkward but Ben Allen stays aboard. Debutant STAMPED (7) is in good hands and has prepared well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Vinrock appeals on what we've seen.
2 06:15 Tassie Fine Foods 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate 1400m
Not a great deal of speed on paper so it may be left to one of the debutants to roll to the front. CORONATION DAY (5) improved again beaten a short head at Sale over this journey. That reads well and she maps for the run of the race. Fitter and can go one better. GAME PLAN (6) also has her third race outing and has a key jockey switch to Craig Williams. She's been giving way starts but may sit closer today and she will be further improved. CLAVEL (4) trialled well but didn't have the best of it on debut. Damian Lane's booking suggests she's been pleasing the stable since. ALPINE COWGIRL (2) debuts and may be the best of the remainder.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Coronation Day.
3 06:45 Next Payments BM64 Handicap (Chute) 1200m
Genuine tempo with Le Derriere and Bold Response leading the way. THAMES (10) resumes for James Cummings and she spaced the Maidens at her only fresh outing. Showed plenty following and Craig Williams stays aboard. Has an inside gate and won't have to be much improved to be winning. LE DERRIERE (4) has been close-up twice since the big win at this level and finds easier. Has a handy 2kg claim and can race forward. Go well. MR MAGNUS (5) returned from town and won the CL1 here as expected. Peaks and can get into the finish. DIO (1) is better suited today and the 3kg claim offsets some of the weight rise. He will be around the mark.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Thames is hard to go past.
4 07:15 Sportsbet More Places 0-64 Handicap 2000m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Bob The Horse crossing from the outside gate. GINGER SWEET (8) improved again narrowly beaten at Mornington over this trip but pulled up with an issue here following and forgive. The gate is awkward but the blinkers go on again and she can sit handier. Rates well and is worth another chance. ARMINO (1) also draws wide but Damian Lane is a key jockey switch for the 3kg apprentice. Disappointed last time but raced well at Sandown Lakeside prior at his first Australian start. The longer journey will suit and he can feature with average luck. SPARKLE LINK (11) steps up from the mile and has set a solid foundation. She also needs a good ride but Craig Williams is engaged and she'll appreciate the step-up in trip. SACRIFY (3) is in a leading metro barn and delivered his Maiden win here three weeks ago over 2000m. Tougher but he will keep improving.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Ginger Sweet.
5 07:45 Sportsbet Future Star Series Heat 12 - (QC) - Repechage 1400m
Good early pressure with Peace Baby or Blue Cowboy likely to take up the running. HIGH PRAISE (5) just missed here on debut and it was a big effort from an outside gate. Draws handy today and a gun hoop sticks aboard. He's sure to have come on and should be winning. NIC'S CHOICE (6) raced favourite and led narrowly beaten here 7 days ago. He will present and peak fitness and can form the quinella. SHOW OF GOLD (3) finished just behind the above in the same contest spiking his figures. Maps for a soft run and fitter he's in the mix. PEACE BABY (7) has been disappointing but peaks today and may appreciate the longer sprint. Keeps McNeil and also goes in at a price.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing High Praise to win.
6 08:15 Vale Marg McDonald Maiden Plate 1600m
Solid tempo with Classic Story leading from Dela Bella and Fumage. FUMAGE (8) will be better for the 2.3L defeat at Geelong over 1525m. She can find cover and is sure to keep improving. They've scratched a fancied stablemate and she'll be hard to beat. KILLARNEY (4) is ex-WA and resumed over this trip in good order. He was heavily bet at Cranbourne following but didn't get into it. He's been freshened and the blinkers are immediately reapplied. He has a low gate and is worth another chance. HIGHLY REGARDED (5) debuts for a leading metro yard. He has an in-form hoop and is sure to be well-prepared. CLEO'S AWARD (2) is better than the form line suggests and maps well. Ready to show more.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Fumage.
7 08:45 Unox Casa Fillies & Mares BM58 Handicap 1600m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Cable De Vega. SHE'S A HUSTLER (2) resumes and the Begg yard is flying. She had two starts last preparation for a big Maiden win at Geelong over 1512m and a nose defeat at Sale in stronger than this. Was heavily bet both and has prepared for this with a Cranbourne trial win. Keeps Childs and should be winning. MYSTIC VAMP (11) resumed with a near miss in a 64 at Mornington and then didn't have the best of it there in this grade. Keeps the 2kg claim and she may push forward today. She can get into the finish if that works out. MIYAZAWA (10) will settle back but she's a local with more to give and has claims. FINE REBEL (14) peaks and race favourite at Yarra Valley. last time. She can lift with the first-time blinkers applied.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing She's A Hustler to win.
8 09:15 RW Advisory Group BM58 Handicap 1400m
In a race without an obvious leader, either Missile Meg or Flanagan can roll them along. AUSTRATA (1) went close here first-up in a 64 over 1400m and is back on track. Keeps the 2kg claim in easier and fitter is a chance to go one better. SIRIUS STATEMENT (10) placed second here first-up behind a dominant winner and has more to offer over the longer sprint. Mott stays aboard and will give her every chance. MISSILE MEG (7) was narrowly beaten at Sale first-up in a return to form. Fitter and rates to make the finish. AILYAK (4) resumes for the premier stable and has trialled well x2 at Cranbourne. Good enough and is sure to have come on.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Austrata each way.
