Cracking tempo with Showlas and Pat's Last Bang leading the way. SHOWLAS (4) just missed over the mile two back before a disappointing performance when back in trip last time out at this course. Back again in trip today to 1300m on the quick turnaround, but this is a distance she's won at previously and she finally draws a barrier. Can bounce back to her best. DARK AMBITION (7) bumped into a smart one last start and did jump favourite ahead of that galloper. He makes plenty of appeal. He's still an improving commodity and he'll appreciate the drop in weight today. Ticks a few boxes and can go one better this time. ANCIENT GUIDANCE (3) will be better for the fresh run and loves this track and trip, winning 2/3. Brad Parnham takes the ride and sharp improvement is expected as he didn't trial coming into the campaign. Can end his winning drought today. SACRED OATH (14) will need some luck from the barrier draw but finds a suitable race on his recent form. EXTREME LOVE (10) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Showlas gets the nod in the last.
