Abundant pace from Decepticon, Mitsukane Aries and Party Girl vying for the lead with Elele Lanakila on their backs. DECEPTICON (12) is back from a spell of six months. Closed last prep with a third, beaten 3.5 lengths, over 1500m at this track. Has a decent record at this circuit with a win and three minor placings from four starts. Hard to go past. PARTY GIRL (4) has strung together a couple of wins at this course, the latest on November 19 over 1400m when she scored by 3 lengths. Taking on a better line-up this time but she is up to the challenge. MITSUKANE ARIES (11) has put together a couple of wins at this circuit, the latest on November 20 over 1400m when she got home by half a length. Goes up a rung or two but she is good enough to figure in the finish. MARGOT ECLAT (10) comes here off a break of five months. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1400m at this track. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
