Scorpion to take up the running with New Romance and Giddy Up Bankcheck close at hand. PRINCING (9) finished fifth on debut then improved last start but found one better over 1500m at Mornington, beaten a nose after being in the firing line on the bend. Was scratched from a stronger race at Geelong on Friday for this and looks ideally placed. FIERCE FIGHTER (5) turned in a nice run last time to finish second over 1400m at Warrnambool. That was an improved effort and should be ready now at this trip third-up. DOUBLET (4) finished out of the money when fresh from a spell two starts back then was beaten 5 lengths when eighth in a 1314m contest at Geelong two-and-a-half weeks ago. Finds a suitable assignment and can find winning form. SCORPION (2) resumes here and the gate makes it tricky but he did contest some stronger races than this and has been trialling adequately for the return over this trip. SUGGESTED PLAY: Princing to win.
