DAVID SULLIVAN TROTTERS HANDICAP 2190m

Track: GOOD   Clouds (Max: 17)

Hard to knock the form of MOONSHINE PENNY (5) who recorded back-to-back seconds before digging deep last start to score by a head, adding to a good record at this circuit and distance. Strong claims again. SURPRISE TO ME (4) raced parked and faded at Charlton last time but the prior form was good including a nice win at Stawell two back. That form should stack up. SONARMI JOH (6) starts from a 50m handicap but has won all five times he has raced at this circuit and distance. Must rate highly off that stat. BROWN EYED KATE (3) boxed on to place last time, adding to a consistent record at this venue and distance. Can feature.

Two back was well beaten into seventh behind Blackrange Glory at Hamilton over 2160m in a NR up to 49 on March 26 at $126. Then a handy effort when a close second behind Moonshine Penny at this track over 2190m in a NR up to 50 on April 11 at $12. Progressing well. Consider.

Failed to impress last start; 7th (Fr2) over 1609m at Charlton, beaten 22 m by Chinski (2:00.20) in NR up to 50 on April 23 at $5.50. Showed ability the run before when he came from midfield and won by a head (10m Fr3) held up early, at Stawell (2:51.90) beating Fling It Rainbow in No NR on April 18 at $3.60 at the bell was 5th-9m on the pegs. Rates highly. Can measure right up.

Last start 7th (Sr4) over 2200m at Ballarat, beaten 22 m by Countess Chiron (2:44.80) in NR 56 to 64 on April 17 at $151. At his previous start solid effort when 3rd (Sr1) over 2160m at Hamilton was 7th-14.6m on the pegs at the bell, beaten 6 m by Old Villa Boy (2:40.50) in NR up to 59 on March 26 at $26. Unbeaten at this circuit and distance so must rate highly.
