Cracking pace early with Capricorn Star, Mohnar and Poetic Storm leading the charge. ATTAIN (1) was out of the money in a hot field at Pakenham 2 starts back but it was still a very good effort when finishing just over 2 lengths from the winner in a big finish. He returned to that track at his next run and ran on to run third over 1200 metres. This is well within reach and he is overdue a winning turn. POETIC STORM (12) showed a lot of improvement from her debut run when finishing runner-up at Caulfield-Heath last start by a short head. The extra 100 metres here is ideal and she can go one better with some early luck from a tricky gate. CRUMPETS (10) has back-to-back thirds at Pakenham to her credit this prep and is building her fitness. She might have to go back early from a wide draw but if the gaps come at the right time, she could have the last say. Include in all combinations. MAKDANE (4) was doing her best work late when running third on debut at Geelong last December. He will be a lot stronger after a spell. He is u to winning this fresh up, Watch the markets. SUGGESTED PLAY: Makdane each-way.
