Little in the way of pace with no noted leaders on paper. HAFEY (5) found the company more to his liking in the country at Narrogin 8 days ago and returned to winning form again with a comfortable half-length victory at Narrogin. His confidence is up now and this is not a big step up in company. He has 4.5 kilos less to carry this time and can double the dose. DANCING JACK (2) is resuming from a spell and is more than likely going to need the run. He is well short of his peak distance but is nicely weighted after a 3-kilo claim. If he is not too far off them turning for home, then he could run into a first-four placing. COUNTER DRIVE (1) is usually consistent and has raced his way back into form recently at Esperance. He has won 3 times on this circuit and is a solid each-way chance again. CHANG MAN (6) was sent for a spell after a last-start win here in the spring. He is nicely placed at the weights and should be running on strongly. Look for him late. IT'S A LANCE (4) won on the same day as the fourth pick last spring. Watch closely. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hafey to win.
