Hereward is the probable leader in the small field. SKYCATCHER (3) couldn’t quite justify market support first-up at Wyong but worked home well once he balanced up. He’ll take plenty of improvement from that run and should appreciate the rise in trip second-up. From the kinder draw, expect him to settle closer and prove tough to hold out. FORMAT (5) resumes short of his ideal distance but has trialled well leading in and brings strong peals. Hyeronimus stays aboard after partnering him in his lead-up work. LOUIE’S LEGACY (6) chased gamely into second when resuming at Canberra and now rises to a preferred trip. From the inside draw, he should get every chance and can give this a real shake. HEREWARD (2) is yet to fire a shot in his two runs back but boasts a strong record here and is open to sharp improvement third-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Skycatcher to win.
