A solid tempo from Anticipar, Banitsa and Saikodane all kicking up to take advantage of their low draws. GRAND SAINT (12) looked good at his only appearance five months ago over 2000m at Hanshin, finishing third and beaten 2.25 lengths. Sure to have improved over the break and should be in the finish again. GRAY STORM (8) is a three-year-old colt by A Shin Hikari out of Musterwerk set to debut for the Manabu Ikezoe stable. Should acquit himself well. Keep an eye out for any positive market movement. HOT EMPEROR (13) ran below expectations last time at Niigata, finishing 13th and beaten 14 lengths starting at $8. Finds a nice race and can bounce back. SAIKODANE (9) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1800m at this track, beaten 3.5 lengths into sixth. Well placed in this contest and can figure in the finish this time.
