Plenty of pace from Nomomeikushi, Perfect Force and Nafanua matching motors ahead of Battle Warrior. NAFANUA (9) is improving with racing and gets the blinkers added today in this tougher contest third up. Came out quickly on the heavy surface with a fighting second over 1200m at Bathurst with 57.5kg. Will appreciate Newman's 2kg claim and take catching here. STUBBORN EMMELIE (7) slow into stride first up and struck trouble in the run with an even seventh over 1100m at Canterbury. Well drawn again and can find the winners' list if she mends her manners. ISSY'S STAR (3) handy mare expected to go on with it this time in. Wound up strongly first up on the heavy (10) surface with a fast finishing second over 1100m at Gosford. Likely to go back from the draw and no shock to see her finish over the top of these. LADY OF THE CASTLE (4) rewarded for her consistency third up with a game Maiden win over 1200m at Newcastle.
